A Simplified Silty Sand Model

نویسندگان

چکیده

A unified critical state model has been developed for both clean sand and silty using the modified Cam-clay (MCC). The main feature of proposed is a new line equation in e-ln(p) plane that capable handling straight curved test results. With this feature, error calculating plastic volumetric strain is, theory, eliminated. Another crucial transformed stress tensor based on SMP (spatially mobilized plane) criterion, which takes into account proper shear yield failure soil under three-dimensional stresses. Additionally, applies intergranular void ratio with fines influence factor sand. Only eight parameters are required sand, total number twelve needed This not only enhances predictive accuracy granular soils but also broadens applicability to encompass drained undrained analyses.

a Simplified Model of Distributed Parameter Systems

A generalized simplified model for describing the dynamic behavior of distributed parameter systems is proposed. The various specific characteristics of gain and phase angle of distributed parameter systems are investigated from frequency response formulation and complex plane representation of the proposed simplified model. The complex plane investigation renders some important inequality cons...

The Effects of Grain Size Distribution and Structure on Mechanical Behavior of Silty Sand

In order to investigate the effects of the grain size distribution and the micro-structure of soils on the mechanical characteristics, some static triaxial compression tests were carried out, and then the relationship of stress-strain and the strength behavior of silty sand were compared among undisturbed samples with different grain size distribution, undisturbed and remolded samples with the ...

Impact of Micropiles Installation on Liquefaction Potential of Saturated Silty Sand Using Numerical Method

This paper investigates the effect of micropile installation into saturated sandy soil by means of finite element method. The obtained results from numerical modeling are compared with the received data from the site. The validation of software has been done by simulating standard penetration test. The effect of some changes in spacing (3m, 1.6m and 0.8m) and injection pressure (1cm, 2.5cm, 5cm...

A Multi Plane Model for Natural Anisotropy of Sand

Anisotropy of sand is mainly due to the geometrical arrangement of particles that depends on the orientation of applied load respect to the bedding plane. It is geologically due to micro-fabric created by the arrangement of the particles configured during deposition. Most of the models develop using stress/strain invariants are not capable of identifying this kind of anisotropy. This is mainly ...

A Simplified Model

A simple set of equations for bubbly flow through a vertical tube is rigorously derived by means of a scale analysis from the realistic equations posed by Pauchon. It is shown that under steady flow conditions the void fraction will relax from its value at the inlet towards an asymptotic value within only a short distance of the inlet. The relationship between the inlet void fraction and the im...
